I do hope you like this, hon!
“Okay, Karasuma-sensei will be waiting for you at the back of the school. So all of you get changed and report to him, okay?”
“Hai, Higurashi-sensei!”
As she heard the screeches of their seats being pushed out and in, Kagome smiled as she sent them off to their next class with Karasuma. It never ceased to amaze her how fate really came to surprise her. Never did she think as a doctor she would have end up becoming a human anatomy teacher for middle school kids.
She sighed as she organized her papers on the stand and wrote down the last few of her notes on her schedule.
Then again, it was not just a simple teaching job; the job itself came with risks and confidentiality from the Japanese government and military.
Closing her eyes, Kagome’s brows furrowed. Once again, he was trying. “Koro-sensei, you really have to do a better job of concealing yourself.”
“Eh?” The yellow creature popped out of the ceiling with an ‘innocent’ looking face. Scratching the back of his head with one of his tentacles, he jumped down to meet Kagome in the now empty classroom. “I’m that bad, huh?”
“Seems like you have lost your touch,” she smirked, “Koro-sensei. If I recall, you were better at concealing your presence when you were an assassin.”
Koro-sensei chuckled nervously.
To think the assassin she had met during his confinement had turned to this. She had met Koro-sensei when he was in the middle of his trails of his ‘medicine’ or so they had told her when she was brought in by the government. She was to overlook his health and correct any ‘errors’. By the time the corrupted experiment made it to her ears, it was too late. Koro-sensei had managed to escape, and although she knew it would risk everything, even her family’s life, she decided to help.
Assassin or not, he was still a human being and experimentation on them was against her morals.
Luckily for her, Koro-sensei was able to escape while making it look like he was trying to attack Kagome. It was all but a scene to save her.
A debt she had yet to repay.
The Japanese military had come to her knowing she had full knowledge on his health before he turned into the creature and the experiment itself and decided to bring her into the next plan: assassinating him.
“Well,” Koro-sensei cleared his throat, “it seems the students have taken a liking to you.”
“Yeah,” a sweat drop loomed over her head, “but a few like to push my buttons and test me. Out of nowhere, a knife is thrown at me and I am expected to dodge it.” To think these middle school kids were being taught skills no regular person should know, let alone their target was a teacher.
Koro-sensei laughed, “must be Karma-kun.”
“Yeah, it’s mostly him.” She exhaled, tapping her notebooks and papers together to line them up. Walking towards the doors, Kagome stopped a foot away as she held her notes beside her hip. Eyes glued to the handle to slide the door open, Kagome felt Koro-sensei’s aura stable itself out.
“Are you tense,” she asked, turning her head over her shoulder, “Koro-sensei?”
“Me?” He chuckled. “Higurashi-sensei, I came to check on you.”
Kagome blinked, taken back by his concern. “Check on me?”
“You are having doubts, aren’t you?” He smiled, turning to her. “The date is almost here.”
Her shoulders dropped; her eyes wandered down. The date of their final mission was arriving, and it pained her that the assassin she had met, was a man who had a good heart.
Nodding, Kagome smiled back. “I’ll pray we succeed.”
“I will pray as well, Higurashi-sensei!” He saluted her.
Exiting the room, Kagome closed the door behind her as she thought about the next step they needed to do.
The next step to save Koro-sensei as a class.
